Got Eggs

Dozen eggs July 2015

These are definitely not your Store-Bought Eggs. We gathered 20 eggs yesterday. About half of the West Coop pullets are laying now. The Marans, who lay the dark brown eggs, were the first to start laying. Annie led the way and has claimed nest #7 as her own.

The Big Girls are feeling the competition and have stepped up their production, too. Sometimes Leah or Joanna will go lay an egg in one of the West Coop nest boxes, just to cause a lot of commotion, it seems. I may need to add ear plugs to my chicken-cleaning supplies.
