Guard Dog

TJ hard at work June 2015

TJ is an excellent Chicken Guard Dog. He keeps a close eye on the baby chicks while they are out free-ranging. Joanna trusts him to keep the neighborhood hawks away. TJ sits and watches, but is ready to spring into action if it’s necessary.

He’s also very good at helping put the baby chicks and even the big chickens back into their pens when Free Range Time is over. He circles around behind them and then walks them slowly to their pen, carefully herding them.
