You Can’t See Whoooo

Barred Owl Sept 2014

We have a new resident! The Barred Owl watches us from the top of one of the trees in our front yard. In the evening, we hear our Barred Owl call out “Whoo-whooooo” with a slight almost gargling trill at the end. Occasionally there is an answering “Whoo-whooooo” from the distance.

The magnificent wingspan and markings on the wings are amazing to see as the Barred Owl silently swoops through the trees and across our yard.
