Her Wild Magnolia Tree

Her Wild Magnolia Tree

While clearing out some brush, her Papa found a small magnolia tree. They decided to move it to a sunny spot. They dug a nice deep hole at the new spot. Digging is hard work for a 10 year old, but she loves working with her Papa.

They dug up the little tree and moved it to its new home. She shoveled the dirt into the hole for her tree. They worked together to put bricks around the tree.

They filled buckets with water to give it a drink and a good start in its new spot. And they gave the tree its name. It is H’s Tree. Her Tree.

We had SO much fun planting the little tree. The big grin on her face in my rear view mirror was something that made her Papa feel so good., You see, she got to ride in the bed of the pickup truck across the yard to take the water to the tree. Little kids wouldn’t be allowed to do that, just older kids. Like her!
